Brilliant!Reminds me of the Terry Wogan Tales that he used to do, I cant remember what they were called or who wrote them
Poor old Terry. I saw him on Children in Need last Friday and he seemed very old.
Too much scope here, for Carry On type comments. I'm biting my tongue...and that's not a euphemism.
Love it. So very... mundane. One of my 'posh' neighbours in the big houses behind me is having a 'late summer' sapphic 'intrigue' with her personal trainer - they are so wrapped up in each other, and so used to me walking past every day with my dogs as they canoodle in the car - that I've become invisible. Its only a matter of time before her husband realises that they spend far more time in a parked car round the corner than actually.... running..
I am always SO pleased when I see you've posted something.
And thanks for mentioning Charlotte Matthews a while back. I'd never heard of her, but I have a lovely print by her hanging in my living room now.
No need to publish this, I just want to say thank you for entertaining and thought provoking blog posts.
Martin - Those lovely, innocent Ladybird illustrations do lend themselves to a little innuendo.
Richard - There seem to be a lot of sapphic liaisons in Lewes, with several middle-aged wives leaving their husbands for a woman. Looking at many middle-aged men (present company excepted of course!), I can see why.
Denise - I'm so pleased that this blog pointed you in the direction of Charlotte Matthews. My visit to her studio was a real inspiration and I would have happily bought everything that was on sale. Thanks for your kind words about the blog.
