The weird thing about The Shining, is that it's just as good as people tell you - and I HATE Jack Nicholson. It's visually brilliant, the sound is excellent and has some really visionary cinematography. Kubrick isn't really my cup of tea and generally over rated - but this is one film I would not hesitate to recommend.
I'm not a fan of Kubrick either (or Jack Nicholson, for that matter), which is one of the reasons I haven't gone out of my way to see "The Shining". However, you've now whetted my appetite.
That has all the hallmarks of a naughty little sister.
ReplyDeleteThat is unbelievably awesome.
ReplyDelete...made me think of "The Shinning"...written by the little boy that lives in David Timothy Allens' mouth - quite creepy...
ReplyDeleteLucille, you sound as if you're talking from personal experience.
ReplyDeleteRichard, I'm afraid I'm one of the last people left who has never seen "The Shining", but I like the idea.
